Hestercombe will be holding 'A Night of Light'

You are invited to take a romantic night walk through the spectacular Hestercombe Gardens which will be transformed into another world with a myriad of lights and sound. This event will be a unique opportunity to take a circular stroll through the gardens as darkness falls, a rare chance in itself, but made even more special by the stunning affects of a range of unusual site specific visual arts utilising lighting as their main focus. The lake in the eighteenth century landscape garden will be lit with a mass of bulbs creating a spine tingling effect. The circular walk will take you through not just the landscape setting in the valley but also the world famous Edwardian garden, where borders will come alive with light and sound. The site specific and screen-based art-works will be created by an enviable gathering of artists renowned both regionally and nationally for their work.

A Night of Light will be a celebration during Somerset Art Week, and will at the same time be a fitting backdrop for the launch of the Cultural Olympiad in Somerset.
