Ale trail offers pub-lic transport

EAST Lancashire Railway (ELR) has launched a Rail Ale Trail, encouraging groups to explore the area and visit some of its best local real ale pubs and breweries.

Groups can travel from station to station along the 12-mile ELR railway (which runs between Rawtenstall in Lancashire and Heywood in Greater Manchester) at their own pace, or pre-book a guided tour in the company of a Blue Badge guide.
Those wishing to explore the trail without a guide can request an A5 booklet detailing its highlights. The trail can be started and finished at any station.
The price of a guided tour includes tickets, the guide and a bottle of specially brewed ELR ale for each group member.
