Bedfordshire-based Michael Grant, GTO for Leighton-Linslade U3A, recently took 42 group members on a five-day tour of East Anglia, complete with a unique visit to the just for groups! head office in Norwich.

Michael’s itinerary was jam-packed. On the first day, the group took a tour of The National Stud in Newmarket, before visiting Cambridgeshire’s Museum of Fenland Drainage. Across the next few days, many more attractions were visited including Langham Glass, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Sandringham Estate and Bure Valley Railway, all in Norfolk.

The special trip to see just for groups! at work took place on the final morning of the trip. Group members enjoyed a tour of the offices and met employees, including the reservations and operations teams, hotel staff and those involved in sales, marketing and brochures. Michael says, “To have the chance to visit a head office such as this added an extra dimension to our holiday and gave our members the opportunity to see much more than the average holidaymaker would.”

The just for groups! Nelson Hotel in Great Yarmouth was booked for the group’s stay in Norfolk and Michael recalls, “The hotel was excellent; manager John Rushworth and his staff did a superb job of looking after us.”

Transport arrangements for the trip were made by just for groups! with Birmingham International Coaches and the group was delighted to have regular driver Phil Goldsworthy at the wheel. Michael comments, “Phil is both a very skilled driver and an excellent ‘people person’. He always makes our holidays memorable for the right reasons!”

Of just for groups!, Michael says, “We greatly appreciated the invitation to meet the people who work so hard to make sure our holiday runs smoothly. It’s not often that supplier and provider get to meet together socially but it was a revealing and pleasant experience for both sides. The company goes out of their way to meet requirements and I would never look anywhere else for another supplier.”
