Blessed with excellent weather this year, the Goodwood Revival festival provided an even more extensive vintage experience for Editorial Director Peter Stonham, whose attendance at the event is one of the highlights of the year for him. As well as the established historic motor races including this year both cars and motorcycles, the supporting activities provide a remarkable environment in which to simply enjoy period flavour and people dressed up to suit! The event provides the opportunity for more and more other retro-themed attractions to promote their own experiences, including this year, the Art Deco capital of New Zealand, Napier, Brooklands Museum and Brighton Pier, complete with mods on their scooters and period slot machines! With an early 1960s mini-supermarket, Tesco had expanded their presence to have a 1960s toy shop too, and re-made toys such as the Amazing Robot, which Peter had had as a child. A very impressive collection of vintage planes included a fly-past by the last two Lancaster bombers appearing together for the first time. It was a show stopping moment, which Peter loved.
Another great Goodwood!
