Art worshippers

Taking place for its fifth year, Art in Romney Marsh 2011 is a contemporary visual arts festival that gives artists an opportunity to create work inspired by the area’s medieval churches.

Taking place over four weekends in September and October, the event will feature exhibitions of art in and around six of the churches, in a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, installation, video, film and sound. There will also be performances of live music on some dates.

Art in Romney Marsh will take place on the weekends of 17th and 18th and 24th and 25th September, and 1st and 2nd and 8th and 9th October at Fairfield, Brookland, Ivychurch, Newchurch, Old Romney and St Mary in the Marsh churches on Romney Marsh in Kent. The churches are free to enter, although some of the musical events will be ticketed.
