Authority insists on fair Olympic parking rates

COMPETITIVE parking rates will be made available to coach operators during the London 2012 Games, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has announced.

Coach passengers will account for around 10% of all spectators during the Olympic Games, and costs for coach parking at venues outside London have been set at £50 per visit.
These include Hadleigh Farm, in Essex, for mountain biking, Eton Dorney, in Berkshire, for rowing, Weymouth and Portland for sailing events, and Ebbsfleet International, in Kent, for rail transfers to the Olympic Park.
For venues on the Olympic Park itself, it will cost £60 per visit to drop-off or pick-up in the transport malls that will serve the 500-acre Stratford site during the Games, with overlay parking included at the ODA’s Bus and Coach Control Centre in Barking, east London.
