Beautiful bicycles by the sea

If you are considering a group trip to the seaside town of Hastings in East Sussex, and
are looking for a novel way to get about, then Bell’s Bicycles may be just the ticket.

The shop, which offers group hire of vintage-inspired bicycles is housed in a Grade II listed building in the Old Town of Hastings, just opposite the Old Town tourist information centre.
Owner Megan O’Mara set up the bicycle shop in 2009 in response to the desire for vintage bikes as opposed to hi-spec mountain bikes, and they provide a wonderful and leisurely way to ride along the seafront and other areas of the town.
There are miles of accessible cycle track along Hastings seafront, with this set to extend further into the neighbouring town of Bexhill-on-Sea in the coming year, as well as miles of country park and lanes around the town.
As well as offering group bike hire, Bell’s can also arrange a package to include picnics from adjacent retailer, Penbuckles Cheese and Vinters; the picnics cost £5 per person and include a sandwich, drink, crisps and a cake, all from locally-sourced ingredients.
Also provided are maps and suggestions of the best places to cycle as a group, as well as any practical cycling support that may be needed.
Groups of any number can be catered for and special rates are available.
