Stretching over 30 miles from the start of the River Foyle to the Atlantic Ocean, the ‘Foyle Canoe Trail’ straddles both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and includes a mix of water conditions, from flat water to sea lough and river sections.
Starting at Strangford village in County Down, the ‘South East Coast Canoe Trail’, meanwhile, spreads more than 50 nautical miles along the South East Coast of Northern Ireland and into Carlingford Lough, boasting sea loughs, rocky coves and long sandy beaches.
Both trails are suitable for a duration of one or several days, and guided trips are available. Canoes and kayaks are available for group hire.
