Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe Village in Gloucestershire are planning a year-long Tudor-themed Katherine Parr Festival for 2012 to mark the quincentenary of Sudeley Castle’s queen, the sixth wife of Henry VIII.
Highlights include the appearance of several of the UK’s foremost historians, authors and gardeners, as well as monthly Tudor Fun Days involving falconry, minstrels and characters in period costume.
At the heart of the celebrations will be a special Katherine Parr exhibition, which will be complemented by a new film, presented by Dr David Starkey, featuring many of the displayed artefacts and illustrating Parr’s life at Sudeley Castle.
The Katherine Parr Festival will run throughout 2012 in and around Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire. For more information telephone 01242 604244.
