NEW research carried out by Passenger Focus – the independent passenger watchdog – to get a better understanding of coach passenger needs and experiences shows a resounding vote of confidence in the nation’s coach services.
The research, entitled ‘Coach Passenger Needs and Experiences’, highlighted many advantages of using the coach including cheaper travel costs, comfortable seating, the stressfree and relaxing nature of coach travel, and how the journey time can be used to work or read. This combination of factors made participants feel they received excellent value for money.
However the research also identified a number of areas for improvement such as coach station facilities and the visibility of staff and police, introducing real-time information, better handling of service disruption and delays, and improving the process for complaints.
