CPT honours coach-friendly Cardiff

CARDIFF has become the first city in Wales to be presented with the prestigious Coach Friendly Award by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT).

In awarding the title to Cardiff, CPT noted the city’s commitment to coach facilities, in particular praising those at Sophia Gardens, in the city centre, where the award was presented to Executive Member for Transport and Transportation, Cllr Delme Bowen and Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones last month.
On-street coach parking bays located at various sites throughout Cardiff, including Corbett Road and Gorsedd Gardens Road, were also noted.
Future plans for improved coach friendliness in Cardiff include additional facilities in Cardiff Bay, improved signage to facilities and the introduction of the use of variable message signs where appropriate to assist coach operators in the city.
