Covering eight conflicts over 20 years, the ‘National Service Display’ explores the contribution of Britain’s post-war national service conscripts as they moved from civilian to soldier.
Personal stories of endless drilling and gruelling inspections are contrasted with details on how a range of difficult commitments sent these young men to far-flung corners of the world.
Entry to the museum is free and there is no charge for the exhibition. The museum offers presentations and a private lunch room for pre-booked groups.
