The rejuvenation, managed by English Heritage, has recovered the gardens’ original vistas and design from decades of disrepair and underfunding, and also seen statues and buildings restored.
Highlights include the planting of over 1,600 trees, including some propagated from original 18th century cedars, the opening up of historic views from the Classic Bridge, a complete restoration of the 19th century conservatory, which houses a rare and important collection of camellias, and the renewal of the Walled Gardens, which will be open to the public on special days.
To complement the repairs, a new café has opened in the grounds, providing indoor seating for 80 people and external seating for over 100.
Chiswick House and Gardens offers special rates of entry for groups.
