Get under the skin of HMS Victory

VISITORS to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard now have the opportunity to see how HMS Victory, Nelson’s great sailing warship, was built and maintained for battle readiness in a brand new interactive exhibition at the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

‘Bones of Oak & Iron – Beneath Victory’s Skin’ will explore how the ship was originally built in 1759, how she was preserved and cared for in war and peace, and the restoration process that will cover the next 10 years.
The exhibition will be free but it is advised to purchase a site ticket to see the rest of the Dockyard, for which groups of 15 or more are offered special rates.
