On the Friday evening prior to the GO Travel Show exhibitors, who had already arrived to set up their stands, were able to relax and enjoy the spectacular moonlit views from the upper level of the Arcelormittal Orbit. Kindly hosted by the Arcelormittal Orbit, the 50 attendees at the reception enjoyed drinks and tasty canapes and had an introduction from General Manager Andy Widdowson about the groups offer at the attraction, including details about the Slide, the world’s tallest and longest tunnel, which will open there in the spring. GTO Editorial Director Peter Stonham also welcomed the guests, who included a number of members of the Group Travel Business Forum, (GTBF), and explained that the Go Travel Show was providing some new thinking on group travel trade events in response to continuing market changes. These are also the subject of a current research project, the findings from which will be made available to those exhibitors who supported the show and other GTBF members. Peter made a second trip to the attraction after the close of the show on the Saturday at 4.00pm to experience a glorious sunset, another element of the ever changing view over the Olympic Park and London.
