Gorge wins coachfriendly award

THE Ironbridge Gorge has been awarded the coveted ‘Coach Friendly Town Award’ by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), joining previous recipients, Stratford-upon-Avon and Lichfield, in the West Midlands region.

Factors such as good signage, toilets and adequate coach parking all played a part in the decision to award the World Heritage Site ‘coach friendly’ status.
The award will be formally handed over at the West Midlands Regional CPT Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony, to be held in Wolverhampton in February.
