Magical moments at Disneyland!

GTO’s Sarah Jeffery recently travelled to Disneyland Paris for the annual threeday Disney Stars Live Experience travel trade event. The trip was organised in association with Disney’s preferred travel partners – Eurostar, Air France and Leger.

Sarah arrived by Eurostar and took advantage of the Disney Express Service, where luggage tags were given to the group to be completed on the train and bags were taken direct to Disney’s 1,093-room Newport Bay Club Hotel, with its gorgeous lakeside views; this allowed the group to head straight into the parks on arrival. It’s an ideal service for GTOs to use at no extra cost if their group is staying at one of the Disney hotels. After lunch and experiencing a few of the rides, the group enjoyed Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade from a private viewing area and later watched Mickey’s Magical Celebration show, which takes place each day as part of Disney’s Magical Moments Festival, the big event for this year, which runs until March 2012.The park closed to the public for the evening, but guests were invited back into the park for a fabulous dinner at Chalet de la Marionnette in Fantasyland and private unlimited ride access. After a hearty breakfast in the Yacht Club restaurant at the Newport Bay hotel, day two included a sales presentation and Sarah was given the opportunity to meet Amanda Cahen, one of the show director juniors at Disneyland Paris.

Amanda is in charge of nearly all aspects of the live shows and parades at the resort. She said that her team often work two or three seasons in advance on projects for the parks and explained that the aim of the Magical Moments Festival was to offer guests the chance to feel as if they are starring in their own adventures. On day three, Sarah attended a Gala Evening at The Times Square in Disney’s Hotel New York Convention Centre, where everyone danced the night away! For groups thinking of visiting Disneyland Paris, the resort offers public and VIP tours at both Disney parks, exploring their secrets, history and hidden details. These can be booked in advance via Guest Relations, or on the day you arrive.
