More talk on Liberation Route

FOLLOWING the course taken by the Allies through Holland as they liberated Europe in World War II, the Liberation Route has added 26 new ‘listening locations’ to its existing 23.

Spread throughout the Arnhem, Nijmegen and Veluwe regions, these listening locations – which take the form of boulders – mark the points on the trail at which walkers should stop and listen to relevant audio stories, which can be downloaded in advance from the Liberation Route website.
The stories can be used on any mp3 player and tell the story of what happened in the region during Operation Market Garden and the Rhineland Offensive of 1944 and 1945, via a special commentary and interviews with veterans.
The site, www.liberationroute.com, also gives details of hotels, other attractions and special packages available in the region.
