British actress Virginia McKenna will host Movie Music Classics, a concert performance of music from a selection of famous films including Gladiator, The Great Escape, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars and Dr Zhivago this Christmas.

In a special tribute to the late John Barry, the orchestra will also perform some of his most iconic works including the themes to Born Free, Out Of Africa, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Dances With Wolves.
Presented by Raymond Gubbay, Movie Music Classics will play four venues beginning at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on 27th December where the Manchester Concert Orchestra will be conducted by Paul Bateman. From here, it will play the Birmingham Symphony Hall featuring the London Concert Orchestra, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with the Scottish Concert Orchestra and Barbican with the London Concert Orchestra.
