Summer at the proms

The 2013 BBC Proms, beginning with First Night at the Proms on 12th July at the Royal Albert Hall, is set to feature two months of orchestral and classical music events, ending on 7th September with five concerts across the UK.

First Night at the Proms will be conducted by Sakari Oramo, marking his tenure as Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Marin Alsop will make history at Last Night at the Proms when she becomes the first woman to conduct the event at the Royal Albert Hall. Other Last Night celebrations are set to take place in London’s Hyde Park, Caerphilly, Glasgow and Northern Ireland.

Other highlights include David Barenboim conducting the first ever complete Wagner Ring Cycle at the Proms, and a concert showcasing music from the BBC’s Doctor Who series, in celebration of 50 years on our screens.

The BBC Proms will open at the Royal Albert Hall on 12th July and will run for two months across 92 concerts around the UK, ending on 7th September. Group discounts are available for groups of ten or more.
