EXHIBITING for another year at Alexandra Palace will be The Wallace Collection, housed in a historic London townhouse.
A refurbishment programme is currently taking place throughout the museum, creating beautiful rooms and galleries in which the visitor can savour the combination of fine and decorative arts in an intimate environment.
In late March 2012, the East Galleries will be the first to reopen; the museum’s vision has been to create improved spaces to hang its world-renowned collection of Dutch paintings, return the rooms to the proportions of Sir Richard Wallace’s day and re-introduce natural light with which to view the works of art.
GTOs can discover more about this project, together with the 2012 exhibition, ‘The Noble Art of the Sword: Fashion and Fencing in Renaissance Europe’ (17th May – 16th September), at Excursions.
