Located on Princes Street, the museum has over 5,000 items on display with artefacts and memorabilia dating back to Roman and Celtic times.
The collection includes Roman and early German tattooing needles as well as items from Japan, Russia, America and The Congo.
There are also tattoo designs and among the 600 machines on display are some used by famous tattoo artists including Ron Ackers, Sailor Jerry and the Skuse family.
For those who are particularly inspired by their visit, the museum even has two tattoo artists on site – and a laser removal room.
