New tours aim to educate

WORCESTER-based coach tour wholesaler, Tour Providers, has launched a new programme of tours for winter 2011/12.

Highlights include brand new ‘I’ve Always Wanted To…’ itineraries aimed at retired people wanting to try their hand at something new without having to attend a study course or formal classes. These four-day half board breaks, organised in conjunction with Park Inns, cover subjects like singing, bridge, genealogy and wine appreciation. The tuition is provided each evening, leaving the days free to take part in coach excursions organised by the GTO.
Another new addition is the ‘Cash On Your Mantlepiece’ breaks based around a visit to an antiques fair. Also four-day, half board breaks, these include an antiques host to lead discussions on items brought from people’s homes or bought at the fair.
Meanwhile, ‘Sundays at the Waldorf’ offer an overnight break at London’s famous five-star hotel twinned with dinner at one of the capital’s most historic pubs, Ye Old Cock Tavern, which was once frequented by Samuel Pepys, Alfred Tennyson and Charles Dickens.
