On the city trail in Germany

Outside the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof.

My Editorial Director, Peter Stonham, and I made a trip to Frankfurt in June to discover the tourism highlights of Germany’s fifth largest city. It was in preparation for the second of our ‘On the European City Trail’ features appearing in the September issue of GTO. We stayed at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, a wonderfully historic five-star property close to the main railway station, and one of the top 100 hotels in the world! As Frankfurt houses Germany’s largest financial district, the hotel is kept busy with business travellers during the week for most of the year, but often looks to fill rooms at weekends, during the summer months and around Christmas at excellent competitive rates! There can be some good deals to be had for any groups looking to enjoy the more luxury end of the accommodation market.
