A CONSORTIUM that includes US-based entertainment giant Paramount Pictures has unveiled plans to create a £2 billion visitor attraction on the North Kent coast.

Plans for the 872-acre development, on the Swanscombe Peninsula, include an as yet unnamed Paramount-branded entertainment resort and leisure district as part of what is being billed as ‘Europe’s leading entertainment destination’.

The resort, which the company hopes to open in 2018, would be located near Ebbsfleet International station, which is just 17 minutes from London and two hours from Paris.

The entertainment district will feature Europe’s largest indoor water park, theatres, music venues, cinemas, restaurants, event spaces and hotels.
