Sadler’s Wells to premiere two new works

This December, Sadler’s Wells will mark the first of its Composer Series of new works with a collaboration between internationally acclaimed composer, Mark-Anthony Turnage, and Olivier Awardwinning choreographer Wayne McGregor.

This two-part world premiere evening will feature UNDANCE, a new choreographic work performed by the dancers of Wayne McGregor|Random Dance against a visual world created by Mark Wallinger.
Turnage’s new score for UNDANCE was inspired by a text written by Wallinger.
The second part of the evening will feature a new staging of Turnage’s 1997 chamber opera, Twice Through the Heart, written for mezzosoprano and 16 instrumentalists. Wayne McGregor will direct Sarah Connolly in the role of a woman who is jailed for killing her abusive husband. Both works will feature a live orchestra conducted by Tim Murray.
UNDANCE/Twice Through the Heart will be performed at Sadler’s Wells in London between 1st and 3rd December. A discout of 20% is offered for groups of eight or more.
