A second Irish tour for Jean

GTO Jean Ledger arranged the eight-day holiday with help from Trueman’s Travel in Hampshire. “We journeyed by ferry from Holyhead to Dublin with Stena Line, having a very smooth crossing,” Jean begins. “We then spent a very comfortable night at the Ramada Woodland Court Hotel in Bray.”
The next day saw the group travel to Kells. “Being a Sunday, all the cafes were closed but some of the group persuaded a publican to let them in to use the cloakroom,” explains Jean. “That’s what’s called making you feel welcome because he couldn’t sell a single drink as it was outside opening hours!”
Next stop was Enniskillen before arriving at the Central Hotel in Donegal, the base for the next five days. “The hotel was right in the middle of town and had direct access to the shops and the River Eske,” states Jean.
Other excursions out included the Giant’s Causeway, the Ulster American Folk Park and the Glenveagh National Park. “We had an excellent coach guide for this and it proved the highlight of the holiday,” says Jean.
A guided coach tour of Dublin was fitted in before the group returned for their last night in Bray. “Steve was our excellent driver and members really appreciated having one of Trueman’s new Pullman coaches. I’d also like to thank Sue at the firm for all her help with bookings,” concludes Jean.
