Completion of the new National Hellenic Museum in Chicago’s Greektown is expected on 4th November 2011.
The 40,000-squarefoot museum will spotlight ancient Greek history, the Greek immigrant story and the cultural contributions of Greeks today.
The first floor will be wrapped in clear glass, allowing the museum interior to become part of the Halsted streetscape. Two floors of exhibition and education space will be topped by a rooftop terrace offering views of the city skyline. The new museum will be offering special group rates and pre-booked tours.
