Stade of the art

A month-long celebration of visual arts, performance and events by emerging and established artists across the UK and worldwide, the Coastal Currents festival will return to Hastings, East Sussex, in August.

Now in its 12th year, Coastal Currents has grown into one of the most recognised arts festivals in the south east, and includes a popular open studios programme involving over 100 artists in beach huts, studios, houses and gardens from nearby St Leonards across to Rye.
A key event during the opening weekend will be ‘Spotlight’, an evening of bold, experimental performances specially commissioned for the festival.
The event, on the 27th August, will see performers leading participants in an illuminated trail from the town’s new Stade Open Space along the seafront and into the town centre.
Coastal Currents will run from 27th August to 30th September at venues throughout Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea and Rother. All events are free of charge.
