Sweden to open ABBA attraction

ABBA: The Museum, a new attraction due to open in Stockholm next year.

A MUSEUM devoted to 70s and 80s pop supergroup ABBA will open next spring in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

Named ABBA: The Museum, the attraction will be a permanent addition to the new Swedish Music Hall of Fame on the island of Djurgaarden. It supercedes an earlier, abandoned ABBA museum project announced in 2006.

The museum will feature memorabilia from the band’s decade-long career, including stage costumes worn by all four members, Agnetha, Benny, Björn and Frida, and visitors will also be able to sing along to ABBA songs alongside life-size holograms of the group.

It will showcase not only the story of ABBA, but also the wider history of Swedish pop music. Group rates have yet to be announced.
