GTO Sylvia Saxon remarks, “I’ve taken my group on more than 30 trips around the world in the eight years that I’ve been using the company and they’ve all been absolutely brilliant. As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
The group flew to Luxor where they boarded the five-star M.S. Da Vinci for their return cruise to Aswan. Sylvia recalls, “It was a lovely boat and both the service and food were excellent. We were treated like royalty!”
Ten excursions were built into the itinerary including a visit to the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Horus in Edfu and Philae Temple in Aswan. A high point for Sylvia was the trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan, one of the optional excursions available to the group. She says, “The temple is carved out of the mountainside and seeing it come into view as you drive through the desert is incredible.” She adds, “From Luxor, the group could also choose to enjoy a hot air balloon flight over the Nile or take a plane to Cairo to visit the Pyramids.”
Even though the group had a packed itinerary, there was still plenty of time to relax and enjoy the hospitality on board the boat, with the Egyptian-themed evening proving particularly memorable. Sylvia reveals, “Everybody bought costumes to wear from the gift shop onboard and there was traditional food, music and dance to enjoy. It was a really fun evening.”
Egypt certainly made an impression on the group with Sylvia concluding, “GTOs looking for something a bit special for their members should look no further than a cruise on the Nile. It has everything you could wish for in a holiday. For weeks after we returned, Egypt was everyone’s favourite topic of conversation!”
