‘Battlegroup Afghanistan – The Armoured Soldiers’ Story’ includes a display of armoured vehicles of the type currently in use in Helmand, alongside a recreated Forward Operating Base complete with a lookout station, soldiers’ living quarters and makeshift bathroom facilities, as commonly used by troops in the Afghan desert.
Researchers have spent hours interviewing soldiers from various regiments who have seen action in Afghanistan, and visitors will be able to hear the resulting stories in the soldiers’ own words.
The exhibition is included in the general entry price to the museum, which offers special rates for groups of 10 or more.
