The dark winter evenings are again being brought to life in a exciting way at Waddesdon Manor near Aylesbury this year, reports Editorial Director Peter Stonham, who was one of the first to visit this year’s festivities. Late openings have been arranged every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 3rd January, so visitors can experience both the interior of the house with the ‘Lights and Legends’ themed decorations, the external illumination of the ornate facade of the manor house itself, with a number of special giant candlestick features, plus the newly created original audio visual installation by artist Bruce Munro. This features flashing colours and shifting sounds from dozens of glowing tents threading their way around the gardens. Waddesdon in winter is a memorable visit, says Peter.
