Using live actors and multi-media effects, Gladiators of York also features findings from a burial ground in the city.
The discovery of a Roman gladiator graveyard near the centre of York proved that gladiator arena games took place in the city, and the show brings to life the ruthlessness of gladiatorial combat.
It sees visitors come face to face with a slave driver, responsible for providing gladiators primed for combat to entertain the bloodthirsty crowds of ancient Rome. They then witness gladiators in an arena engaged in grisly battle.
Groups of 10 or more people visiting The York Dungeon can take advantage of priority entry and discounted rates.
