In early November Val Baynton was invited by Fred. Olsen to attend the British Guild of Travel Writers Awards Dinner.

Held at London’s Savoy Hotel in the stunning Lancaster Ballroom she joined Justin Stanton, Sales & Marketing Director and Amanda Cresswell, PR Executive for the cruise operator, and other specialist travel writers including Bryan Johnson from Cruise Advisor and Debbie Marshall from Silver Travel for the evening, which recognised excellence in travel writing.

With sponsorship from the Sri Lankan Tourism Promotion Bureau, the evening revealed how the Asian destination welcomes visitors and there was a delicious dinner prepared with a Sri Lankan twist.

Amongst awards made was one to the International Centre for Cave Art, which received a ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best European Project 2017, which by coincidence Fiona Horan has just visited.

Thank you Justin and Amanda for a very enjoyable evening.
