Coach Industry Updates and Offers

After a treacherous road in 2020, coach operators have started making plans for the year ahead, releasing incredible new offers with a focus on the UK and tours much closer to home.

Along with a lot of the travel industry, the future of coach operators is still uncertain. After a lack of bespoke financial support for the sector, coach operators and MPs from all political parties will host a virtual parliamentary lobbying event. Read more below.

Virtual Lobbying Event to Support the Coach Industry

A virtual parliamentary lobbying event is being held on 10th February in support of the coach industry. Coach operators and their MPs are being encouraged to attend to show support for the industry.

Emma Hardy, MP for Hull West and Hessle will host the session. All MPs from all political parties have been invited to the session, 20 MPs have confirmed their attendance so far.

The session has been organised following the Treasury’s response from a meeting held in December, to make a case for bespoke support for the sector. The Treasury rejected the case saying it is “not currently prepared” to provide a specific ‘aid to trade’ grant or further financial measures for the sector.

“I am looking forward to speaking at this event and making it clear to the Secretary of State the very real challenges that the coach sector faces and the consequences of a lack of support.” Tom Bartošák-Harlow, Head of External Relations, Confederation of Passenger Transport.

The Virtual Lobby with the Coach Industry is due to take place on 10th February 2021 at 10:30 AM, you can register to attend for free here.
