Days out with a difference at the National Memorial Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire is offering ‘Days out with a Difference’ for visiting groups of 10 or more who can take advantage of a range of packages for 2020, designed to enhance their visit, along with exclusive saver rates for landmark events.

These include Group Saver Rates for ‘Proms at the Arboretum’ on 1st August and Exclusive Remembrance Sunday Group Packages on 8th November, which groups of 10 or more can pre-book to secure seating in Aspects, the site’s state-of-the-art events building for a live broadcast feed of the arboretum’s Remembrance Sunday service. Attendees will receive a welcome talk about the arboretum prior to the service and a two-course lunch. Early booking is required

There will also be Group Saver Rates for ‘Illuminated Arboretum’ (9th-18th December), which sees the arboretum and some of its memorials awash with colour and creates artistic vistas across the gardens and interactive displays.

In addition, a wide range of walks, talks and tours are available along with delicious homemade food packages.

In 2020, in partnership with The Royal British Legion, the arboretum will also be encouraging visitors to remember the impact that extended absences have on Service Men and Women and their loved ones, reflecting on the impact of leaving, missing one another and their eventual return. A special series of commemorative services, events and activities will mark 75 years since VE-Day (8th May) and VJ-Day (15th August), illustrating the scale of the service and sacrifice made by the men and women of the Second World War generation.

The free to enter 150-acre arboretum is home to more than 380 thought provoking memorials dedicated to groups and individuals, nestled amongst approximately 30,000 trees. The tranquil woodland landscape teeming with wildlife offers plenty to explore all year round with memorials representing both military and civilian associations, along with tributes to individuals.

Familiarisation trips are available free of charge for group organisers in advance of booking. Full and detailed information about the arboretum’s 2020 groups offer can be found in the 2020 Groups Visits pack.
