Intrepid travels to Tanzania
Intrepid travels to Tanzania In October, Social Manager Sylvia Saxon took 20 intrepid members of Dorset-based Saxon Group Travel on a 10-night Northern Circuit lodge safari in Tanzania, with The Travel Adventure of Uckfield, East Sussex.
Travelling in three four-wheel drives, the group covered a total of 1,200 miles in 10 days, exploring the four north Tanzania nature reserves – the Serengeti, Ngorongo Crater, Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park – and staying at five different lodges along the way.
Sylvia recalls, “The scenery was breathtaking and we got to see the big five and then some! This included elephants, black rhinoceros, cape buffalos, lions, leopards, giraffe, cheetahs, ostriches and warthogs – which were a favourite with the group due to their incredible personalities!”
Sales Director Jayne Kerr of The Travel Adventure arranged flights with Qatar Airways, and accommodation, guides and vehicles with the African-based Tanzania Experience. Sylvia says, “I’ve booked over 60 worldwide trips with The Travel Adventure and, as always, the service was superb from beginning to end. Plus, once on the safari, staff from the Tanzania Experience were extremely friendly and helpful.”
Rounding up the trip, Sylvia says, “It was a true adventure. If people want to go on a safari, I’d definitely recommend Tanzania as a destination.”
